SOUL WORK

The reflections of

her yesterdays
stare back at her
ghosts of unresolved
desires haunt her
and she navigates
the waterways
of tears as she
seeks to exorcise
the demons that
plague her present

A Wasted Life

Today I will be sharing a poem I wrote about a surreal day I had once.  I recorded it and Turkish Acidplanet artist, mumu mixed it into her music. This poem is included in "Shadows on the Carpet III" - 'Condemned' section.

A Wasted Life

Dusty letters caressed as ribbons cascade
A few photos with frayed edges
These he cherishes more
Than his wife or mistresses

Books from the shelves strewn about in a rage
Locket of hair nowhere to be found
Groveling on the floor
The imposter is dethroned

The adult male petulant, whiny - eyes crazed
In front of his mistress he kisses
The woman he’s longed for
Over whom he obsesses

He exits in an alcohol induced haze
No respite from this reign of pain
Tears cause him to roar
The years are lost in the rain

Just Another Day

While I am waiting for approval for the 'Shadows on the Carpet II' book cover & manuscript, I will share one of the poems from the Fallen section including a link to the audio version.

JUST ANOTHER DAY

Drawing by AVR
Deeply distraught
Her soul in distress
She shares herself with
Him in as many
Ways as possible
Within time constraints
Of parameters
Chosen by them both

She realizes
The futility
Because it is not
Enough and she knows
It cannot be any
Other way - forced
By circumstances
Beyond her control

As he - oblivious
Unknowingly sticks
Daggers into her
Heart and twists them

Weep for Rachel

One of the poems I will be reading tonight from "Shadows on the Carpet I" along with the audio version.

I wrote this poem after Acidplanet artist JTL (John Carter) contacted me about adding some words to a piece of music he had written.  After listening to his piece, I wrote Weep for Rachel.  He asked me to record the spoken word and mixed it into his music. Hope you enjoy!

Weep as she weeps

Weep for Rachel
Weep as she weeps
As they slaughter
So shall they reap

Do they not hear
That all of nature
Adds its tears to
The sobs of Rachel

Weep for Rachel
Weep as she weeps
As they slaughter
So shall they reap

Do they not know
We are all one
Do they not see
What’s being done

Weep for Rachel
Weep as she weeps
As they slaughter
So shall they reap

Weep for Rachel
Weep as she weeps
