Shadows on the Carpet - Section 4 - Fallen

The 4th section of my book is 'Fallen'.  I have tagged 9 poems for this section.  I am sharing 'Fallen Angel' and it will be the last poem in the section.  This poem was inspired by the photo.  I got out of the car and looked down and took a picture and this is what I saw- a gift from my camera.  I just love it when nature and my camera make the photo art for me.

Fallen Angel

  

In tears she lays

This straying angel

Drained of fervor

Unable to fly

Faded and cold

Like the fallen leaf

That floats on a

Puddle of water

In a bizarre

February thaw

Cold globe of night

You lie lifeless

On a background

Of a dark gray

Starless awning

Unaware of

Dragons stirring

On your behalf

Intense dramas

All taking place

Because of your

Violent power

Wreaking havoc

On virtuous

Passionless lives
