English/Czech poem Alone/Osamělá

This is the last poem that I have managed to translate.  I will resume translating more of my poems into Czech after the holidays.  I originally wrote this poem in 1967.

ALONE

The wind
howled
I felt a surge
of emotion
rush
through me
Leaves crackled
underfoot
Trees
reached
for me
Autumn
echoed
in every
woebegone
niche
As I
broke
into
a run

Osamělá

Vítr kvílí
Cítím se
photo art by AVR
vzplanutím emocí
prorostlá
Listí
pod nohama
šustí
Stromy
vztahují
ke mně své paže
A já
cítím podzim
v každém
zanedbalém výklenku
A dávám se
do běhu

Shadows on the Carpet - Section 6 - Torment

Today I am sharing a poem from the 6th section of my manuscript - Torment.  The poem title is Torment as well.

TORMENT

In the middle of
photo art by AVR
The wilderness
Between the slivers
Of moonlight
Filtering through the
Camouflage of trees

Almost naked
They stood
Baring their souls

In the vortex
Of the simulated
Howling of the wind
Tethered to unseen
Anchors by invisible
Filaments of other lives

Almost touching
They stood
Palpably close

Two
Broken
Hearts
